Summer Transfer Window

The summer Liverpool transfer window opens on the 14th of July, roughly a full month after the final game of the English Premier League season is played. Between the 14th of July and August 30th (when the window shuts), clubs from the EPL can reinforce their squads with new players while moving on those that are surplus to requirement. Since the summer window is held during the off-season and runs for longer, there is far more player movement during this time than in the winter. Player contracts also commonly run until the end of the season which forces clubs to renegotiate terms or sell squad members.

Winter Transfer Window

The winter transfer window runs between the 1st of January and 3rd of February 2025 which is approximately at the half-way point of the EPL season. This window provides clubs an opportunity to strengthen their squad, signing new players to cover for injuries or poor performances. Player movement is less common during this period since clubs often spend the bulk of their transfer budgets during the summer months.
