By Adam Mcenroe
As one of the classic modern Premier League derbies in the capital, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham is often a game with a high number of goals. However, in recent years, Fulham have struggled to assert their dominance on any major London derby.
With the original fixture postponed at short notice, both teams are being asked to fill in the fixture midweek after the postponement of the Tottenham Hotspur-Aston Villa fixture. This tie should see two pretty aggressive teams – one going for the title theoretically, one beginning to fight out of relegation slumber – come head-to-head in a pretty exciting match-up.

Tottenham v Fulham team news - Squad rotation to play a part
Expect some rotation for both teams as they look to try and build momentum ahead of a busy period for English football. Spurs might see the introduction of some lesser used players, including the likes of Harry Winks. Other players, such as Sergio Reguilon and Steven Bergwijn, might be given the chance to try and play themselves into some form after less than impressive recent outings.
Upfront, though, Spurs still have the duo of Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min to pull on for goals. This should make it easier for Spurs to push forward and create more chances. Given Fulham appear to have given up on their more aggressive start to the season, though, space is likely to be at a premium for the dynamic Spurs duo.
Fulham will be looking to the increased form of the likes of Ademola Lookman and Andre-Franck Zambo-Anguissa to turn things around. The two have played a major role on the left-hand side of the midfield and attack, adding extra balance to a team that lacked any kind of balance earlier in the season. The Cottagers will likely continue with their back three, with the improved form of Joachim Andersen ensuring they now have a defensive stalwart to trust. Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola has made up for a poor start, too, and has been impressive in recent weeks.
The main challenge for Fulham will be getting enough defensive output from wing-backs Antonee Robinson and Bobby Cordova-Reid. While upfront Alexander Mitrovic is yet to start scoring with any consistency, his presence alone upfront should make the Spurs backline think twice about being too lax off the ball.
Spurs v Fulham - Our Prediction
This is often a one-sided match-up, with Spurs sitting 4th and Fulham as low as 18th. However, both teams are likely to find an opponent who feels good about themselves after recent performances. While we might see some changes between now and kick-off given the short notice of the announcement, we should see both teams come out ready to attack and try to win the three points.
With Spurs scoring at least two goals in five of their last six games at home, though, expect the home side to have enough firepower to win a scoring contest. Fulham are at their best when holding the opposition off, playing on the break, but expect the two hitmen up front in Kane and Son to find the gaps needed to find enough goals for Spurs.
Prediction: Tottenham 2-1 Fulham
