The UEFA Champions League runs annually, typically spanning from September to May. The tournament kicks off with the group stage in September, following the conclusion of the qualifying rounds, and culminates in a thrilling final match in late May. This schedule allows for a season-long build-up, filled with high-stakes matches and unforgettable moments.
How Will the New Champions League Format Work?
The UEFA Champions League is expanding from 32 to 36 teams and will adopt a league-style format. Each team will play ten matches against different opponents, with the top eight teams automatically qualifying for the knockout stage. Teams ranked 9th to 24th will compete in two-legged play-offs for the remaining spots. The knockout rounds will remain unchanged, maintaining the traditional structure of Round of 16, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Final.
Where Can I Watch Champions League?
The broadcast rights for the UCL from 2024-2027 have been purchased by the BBC, Amazon Prime Video and TNT Sports (formerly BT Sport). Out of the 550 live UEFA Champions League fixtures taking place, 533 will be shown on the TNT Sports platform with the remainder set to be shared between the other two broadcasters and Prime Video having first pick for Tuesday night matches.
While the UCL is no longer exclusive to TNT Sports as it has been for the past few years, they have retained exclusivity for the other two UEFA Club Competitions (UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League).
