Premier League: Schedules, Dates, TV Channels & Kick-Off Times
The Premier League schedule can be difficult to track. Matches are frequently moved for television coverage, European commitments, or domestic cup clashes, often with only a few weeks' notice. At WheresTheMatch, we cut through the confusion to show you exactly when your team is playing and which channel you need to watch.
The 2025/26 season sees the live broadcasting rights consolidated between two major players. With 20 teams fighting for the title, European qualification, or Premier League survival, the TV selections are more crucial than ever. Our guide covers every televised minute, from the Friday night opener to the final whistle in May.
Where to Watch the Premier League on TV
Live coverage in the UK is now exclusively split between Sky Sports and TNT Sports. Following the latest rights auction, Amazon Prime no longer holds a package of live games, meaning you only need two subscriptions to cover every televised match.
- Sky Sports: Sky remains the primary broadcaster for the league, showing over 200 live games a season. They own the most popular time slots, including Super Sunday (14:00 & 16:30), Monday Night Football, and the Saturday evening fixture (17:30).
- TNT Sports: Taking over the Saturday 12:30 kick-off slot, TNT Sports (formerly BT Sport) is the home of the early weekend game. They also broadcast two complete midweek match rounds during the season, allowing you to flick between simultaneous games.
- BBC: There are no live games on free-to-air TV. The BBC retains the rights to highlights, shown on Match of the Day every Saturday night and Match of the Day 2 on Sundays.
How to Stream Premier League Matches
You don't need a traditional satellite dish or cable package to watch the action. Both broadcasters have dedicated streaming platforms that allow you to watch on smart TVs, mobiles, and tablets.
- NOW: You can stream all Sky Sports channels via a NOW Sports Membership. This is often available as a flexible Day or Month pass, making it a popular choice for fans who don't want a long-term contract.
- Discovery+: This is the streaming home for TNT Sports in the UK. To access the live sports channels, you need to sign up for the premium plan.
Standard Kick-Off Times & The 3pm Blackout
The UK enforces a strict 3pm Blackout rule (Article 48 of the UEFA Statutes). This prohibits live football from being broadcast on television between 14:45 and 17:15 on a Saturday. The rule is designed to protect attendance at lower-league stadiums. Because of this, if your team is playing at 15:00 on a Saturday, it will not be shown live on TV in the UK. These games are only available via radio commentary or delayed highlights later that evening.
When Are TV Fixtures Announced?
Broadcasters typically announce their live TV picks in blocks, roughly six weeks in advance. If a game in our schedule is listed as TBC or is sitting at 15:00 on a Saturday in the distant future, it likely hasn't been selected for broadcast yet. We update our listings the moment these announcements are made.
