Live Football on BT Sport
Football on BT Sport Television in the UK
In June 2012, BT Sport won the TV rights to show Live Premier League football in the UK alongside Sky Sports for the 2013-14 season and beyond. They out-bid current broadcaster ESPN's offer, which has resulted in ESPN selling off their UK presence and Live Football on TV rights to BT Sport.
Launching in August for the 2013-14 season, BT Sport will show 38 Premier League matches, including 18 first pick matches. They will also show live coverage of the Italian Serie A, French Lique 1, Brazilian league Brasileirão and Major League Soccer.
Following the acquisition of ESPN's Football on TV rights, BT Sport will also show live coverage of the FA Cup, UEFA Europa League and Scottish Premier League on TV.
Football on TV will be shown across it's 2 channels, BT Sport 1 and BT Sport 2, with both channels available in HD. There is no news on a possible 3D channel as yet. In May 2013, BT sparked TV Rights war with Sky Sports by offering BT Sport for free as part of their broadband deals.
